If you live in or are traveling to Miami and have kids, there is one place you need to take them. The Miami Children’s Museum. It is a wonderful attraction where you can take your kid to play and learn. Continue reading to find out a little bit about the museum and what makes it such a great place to visit.
The Miami Children’s Museum was originally founded in 1983 but opened up a brand new building on Watson Island on September 7, 2003. The huge new facility has under its roof galleries, classrooms, a gift shop and even a 200 seat auditorium. The purpose of the museum is to simply enrich the lives of children. It does this by offering interactive exhibits and programs designed to introduce children to art and culture.
So what kind of exhibits do they have. One exhibit is called the Castle Of Dreams. Children can climb into a two story sand castle and examine sands from around the world. Another exhibit is called Pet Central. In this exhibit kids can see how to care for pets and can find out what the perfect pet for them is. Yet another exhibit is called the Television Studio in which children can become a news anchorman or anchorwoman, a weather forecaster or even a television camera operator. This just scratches the surface of what is available at the museum. There are dozens of other exhibits for children to explore and learn from.
If you would like to visit the Miami Children’s Museum you can find it at 980 Macarthur Cswy. For information on current hours and admission prices you can call the information line at 305-373-5437.
